IN LOVING MEMORY
James Reed
May 03, 1936-
May 20, 2024
James Reed was a loving husband, father (Phil, Tom, Scott, and Karl), stepfather (Lance Masterson, Mary Peters, Marty Masterson, and Tim Masterson), grandfather (Jessica, Megan, Erin, Kayla, Courtney, Kelsie, Sam, Jake, Ross, Robert, Krystal, Tiara) and great grandfather (Kallie, Jaxson, Derek, Porter, Murphy, Ryan, Kamiah, Emma, Bonnie).
Jim loved spending time with his family, fishing, camping, grilling, baking and cooking. He was an avid bowler and sponsored his championship team that won multiple tournaments in California and Nevada. He was an active member of the Pinebrook Village community and participated in its choir and theatre events, and was one of the cooks at many of the community events at Pinebrook.
Jim was an artist and master woodcrafter and was well known for his toy making, furniture, Intarsia woodcrafts, and anything else he could think of. He poured his heart and soul into his craft and, sometimes, body parts when he got too close to the table saw blade.
He graduated from Folsom High School (class of ’54). He then served in the air force and was stationed in Korea. Thereafter, he had a distinguished career in civil service starting in 1959 and worked in various capacities including parachute repair and packing, textile and leather working, and painting. His final assignment was to the Civil Engineering Squadron at Edwards Air Force Base where he retired in 1990.
He was loved and respected by his family and friends and will be missed.
